It’s an old story we all know by heart. An eager creator makes one of the most adored cult hit show on television, gets shoveled to another network and sees his work get cancelled. Then said creator pitches multiple ideas to revive the show, but gets shot down by network execs. Years later, creator uses Kickstarter to generate funding from interested parties on-line to finally get the budget he needs for a movie version of the show. Anyway, Robert Kirkman is the writer of the wildly successful comic book The Walking Dead, which spawned an even more popular TV show of the same title. He’s also the writer of Invincible for Image comics and as ridiculously awesome as that series has been, it’s almost impossible to adapt it as a television pilot. So he’s now working with Fox International Channels in order to develop an original exorcism show that’s attached to his new upcoming book from his Skybound imprint at Image. Continue Reading
I like”Arrow.” Sure, it’s riddled with stilted performances from majority of the cast (Count Vertigo was one of the worst), Oliver’s moral code remains somewhat dubious (all the episodes with The Huntress is a bit confusing), and a lot of the bad guys seem to die with no hopes of returning. But the action is well choreographed and the story is interesting enough to draw me in hold me there. Continue Reading
The road to getting Wonder Woman on the small screen, or any screen for that matter, has been…tumultuous to say the least. Then there was that David E. Kelley pilot for NBC where he made Wonder Woman a female Tony Stark stand-in, who parades around as a lawyer during day time. That never made it past the pilot and now the property is being explored at CW, where they had a lot of success bringing DC characters to the screen…and even that unnerved some of the net skeptics.
