“Ah, our boy looks good on the tube,” as Gary Oldman’s Commissioner Gordon would say. Robert Rodriguez released some pictures from the set of his new sequel. Josh Brolin is looking good here as the main protagonist (pre-op Dwight McCarthy) of the new Sin City movie, driving in the rain with murder in his eyes. I’m wondering if he’s driving a hardtop with a decent engine and whether or not he made sure it had a big trunk.
At first I thought it’d be Joseph Gordon-Levitt who would play pre-op Dwight because at the time, he was announced as one of the main protagonist and I felt his name carried enough weight for him play the main lead. I know what you’re thinking, he doesn’t have a similar build as Clive Owen so the transition would look awkward. But it also wouldn’t be the first time a Hollywood movie did that, so I’m not at fault here. Holster your accusatory fingers now.
Here’s another picture of Josh Brolin on a green screen stage.
That just breaks the gritty feel of the movie, don’t it? A grown man pretending to drive a car in about 20 feet of space. I thought they’d put some car parts in the frame, but I guess they’re constructing the entire Dwight-mobile in CGI.
This movie will come out on October 4th.
