Amy Adams was recently on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno to talk about her role in The Master (which she got an Oscar nod for) and they move the discussion along to her playing Lois Lane in the upcoming Zack Snyder helmed Man of Steel. She talks about how much she wanted to be Lois Lane (not to play her character, but to actually BE her) ever since she’s been exposed to Richard Donnor’s Superman movies. In Jay Leno’s usual pedantic fashion, he mentions how easily Lois gets tricked by Clark Kent’s disguise, like that has never been brought up in a discussion before. She chokes down her urge to roll her eyes until they fall out of her skull (I like to imagine) and tells him that she used to think the character was really smart, but had a hard time wrapping her head around that fact as she grew up.
Then she sings a few lines from “Can You Read My Mind?” a song that was used in the first Superman movie. This is the first time I’ve heard her sing and I have to say, she sounds like a Disney princess.
Here’s the entire clip.
People who have problems with Amy Adam’s hair are CRAZY. First off, Lois Lane had been depicted as a red head before and second, you can cast her in any part and watch her wipe the floor with your first choice to play the same role. Unless that happens to be Charlize Theron.
