I’m no Photoshop guru, but I was able to put that picture together with Microsoft Paint and I think it is magnificent. Anyway, Elizabeth Olsen has been reported by Variety to be under consideration for the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film, which is being produced by Michael Bay. She’s most likely trying out for the role of April O’Neil, the female protagonist and friend of the turtles who is often portrayed as either a news reporter or a scientist, though I personally think that it’d be great if she suited up as one of the turtles. Preferably Raphael.
The youngest of the Olsen sister has mostly been involved with indie flicks and had been shopping around for bigger roles. She’s also entered talks with Legendary Pictures to star in the new Godzilla film along with Aaron Johnson (Kick Ass) and Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad). This busy young actress will also star in Spike Lee’s American remake of Oldboy, a movie I am extremely invested in regardless of the end product, which is coming out later this year.
The controversy surrounding the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles script has died down since Michael Bay debunked the rumors that they’re changing the turtles’ origin to something extraterrestrial, claiming that Paramount was responsible for the first draft (which has long been tossed out) and not his crew. Since then though, no news has surfaced in regards to the story or any other casting decisions, but I really do hope they bring back the animatronic suits. Sure, they may be sacrificing a lot of sleek action sequences in favor of nostalgia if they opt for green suits than a green screen (HAH), but it’ll be worth it for all those crazy turtle facial expressions.
